Eloping in Italy: 01 Why?
Eloping means to get married without telling anyone.
Nowadays, eloping does not mean running away but to have an intimate wedding full of love to create a cornerstone in the life of the couple.
The meaning is to get married in a relaxed way and to plan everything to do something out of the ordinary and to take care of each other.
As a destination wedding photographer in Italy, I shot a lot of small weddings and elopements.
Elopements and small weddings are really nice to me. You can work for a story and you can build a relationship with the bride and groom.
I really love to listen to the plans of the couple and, usually, I help them to realize their visions.
Elope in Italy 101 why
Eloping is not for everyone, some people prefer small weddings with no more than 10 guests. So it’s better to start with a WHY.
Of course, complicity, intimacy, and love are the only key elements for a great elopement day.
You must share your unicity idea, and you want to find a visual storyteller to tell your love story to create a visual legacy of your love.
To elope in an amazing way you do not need to do strange things you will need dresses, flowers, rings, a great location that reflect your personality and your deep desire, and a story (your) to be told.
So if eloping is truly the way in which you feel comfortable for your wedding Italy is a great choice to find the right location that will be perfect for your love celebration.
You can choose between mountains, seaside, lake areas, wonderful cities, rustic, classy or elegant locations. In Italy, you will find the right place to elope.
You can rent a cabin in the dolomites or a chalet in the alp or a villa near Lake Como or choose a historical hotel in Lake Maggiore or a romantic beach and seaside in the Amalfi coast, some of you will think about Venice, Florence or the Tuscany hills.
Choose a place in Italy that means something to you, someplace that is related in some way with you and your love story.
In Italy, you will find delicious food, superb wine, and unbeatable landscape and of course great photographers.
You will need to make a few plans to ensure that their ceremony is seamless and legal. Depending on the location, the couple should contact the local city hall to understand the marriage license requirements.
Some locations will require an appointment, a waiting time, and designated witnesses to conduct a wedding ceremony or issue a marriage license. The couple will also likely need their birth certificates and official identifications, so if you are planning a destination elopement, be sure to check local laws prior to leaving for your trip.
If you want a legal wedding ceremony in Italy you will need the help of your consulate or a wedding planner that’s why a lot of couples that elope in Italy prefer a symbolic ceremony.
